Absolutely! The filter rings come in a nylon mesh bag sealed with a plastic zipper and is suitable for both freshwater and saltwater filters. The rings feature a honeycomb interior, thus increasing by 10x the surface area for bacteria colonization.

We have not conducted such detailed experiments, but based on reviews of our previous customers, the ceramic filter can preserve its damp even a week after being pulled out of the water. For optimum success, though, we recommend you to resubmerge these biofilters as soon as possible.
