Does the K3 media float, or do I need an air pump?
They’re all made of plastic, so they float very well. You do need an air pumping system though, to make them circulate.

Can I cut the Japanese blue mat to fit my aquarium, or does it lose its guarantee?
You can surely cut it to fit your space, without losing our lifetime guarantee. We’re more than sure this is the only filter mat you’ll ever buy.
As to cutting it, some of our past clients reported that it’s so coarse you’ll need a knife with a serrated edge or a soldering iron to do it.
